Dr Stuart Martin
EdD (Bristol, UK), MA (California State, USA), BMus (Massey, NZ), DipEd (Massey, NZ), FTCL, LRSM, DipTchg (CCE, NZ)

Dr Stuart is a world class educator with over 30 years of academic experience, and a leader in personalised learning and Apple's 1:1 learning platform. Originally from New Zealand, he has been the Principal of Nexus International School, Putrajaya. His experiences in heading schools also include being a former Principal of Onslow College and Deputy Principal of Wellington High School in New Zealand. He plans to take Nexus International School (Singapore) to new heights with his leadership.

David Wade
Deputy Principal
MEd (Monash, Aus), BA (Hons) (Salford, UK), PGCE (St Martin's, Lancaster UK)

David is a highly respected educator with many years' senior management and leadership experience in two of the UK's most academic and prestigious independent schools, most notably the Haberdashers' Aske's School for Girls in North London. He has also worked in Malaysia and Brunei, and brings to Nexus his extensive knowledge of exceptional UK and international schools. David holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and is a doctoral candidate with the University of Bath (UK), demonstrating his personal commitment to lifelong learning. He is an excellent addition to the academic team that is establishing Nexus Singapore as a leading school in the region.

Peter Hart
Head of Secondary School
BEng (Hons) (Leeds, UK), PGCE (Southampton, UK)

Peter arrived at Nexus as Head of Science in August 2012 and also took on the role of Head of Curriculum. Following two years of establishing the Science Department and helping to lay the foundations for the growth and development of the school, Peter was appointed Head of Secondary, a role which began in August 2014. Peter has a wealth of experience in leadership in the UK which included Assistant Headteacher for Assessment, Recording and Reporting. His last appointment prior to joining Nexus was in the School Improvement arm of Hertfordshire County Council which included a role as Acting Deputy Headteacher. A keen scientist, Peter is a passionate teacher who believes that learners are engaged by strong pedagogy and inquiry-based learning. Peter is delighted by what has been achieved at Nexus and looks forward to leading the Secondary School as it develops even further.

Paul Beach
Head of Primary School
BSc (Brunel, UK), PGCE (Roehampton Institute, London, UK), NPQH (NCSL)

Paul Beach, Head of Primary at Nexus International School (Singapore) relocated to Singapore, where he has worked with a number of international schools, including UWCSEA and Tanglin Trust School. He has over 15 years of experience as an educator, including leadership of large primary schools and been involved in national curriculum design and school evaluations and inspections. Paul believes that education should be engaging and challenging, and that curricula should be keenly focused on the child.

Mark Preece
Head of Operations
BSc (Hons) (Glamorgan, UK), PGCE (Wales, Newport, UK)

Mark joins Nexus International School (Singapore) as Head of Operations. He has 12 years of teaching and school leadership experience within both UK and international school settings. Mark brings a wealth of knowledge from his previous post in Brunei, where he held a highly strategic role spanning many areas of school administration and operations. He has presented best practice of school management at several regional conferences and is very much looking forward to working with the dedicated team here at Nexus Singapore.

Michele Newman
Deputy Head of Secondary School & Learning Area Leader: English & Drama
BEdSec (Melbourne, Aus)

Michele joined Nexus in 2013 as Head of the English Learning Area and her role has continued to evolve; she is now Deputy Head of Secondary in addition to overseeing the Drama Learning Area. She has over 15 years experience working in a range of different teaching contexts as an English and Drama educator. This includes the role of Head of Drama in a leading independent school in Australia, and more recently an international school in China where she developed a performing arts programme whilst Head of Middle Years. She is passionate about inquiry and interdisciplinary learning and is currently completing a Master's in Education. She enjoys travelling with her family and living in Singapore whilst being a team member of a growing and diverse Nexus community.

Justin Potter
Deputy Head of Primary School, PYP Coordinator & Year 4 Class Teacher
BSc (Hons) (Queen Mary's, London, UK), PGCE (Goldsmiths, London, UK)

Justin Potter, our Deputy Head of Primary School and PYP Coordinator, has worked in Singapore since 2008 as a PYP teacher and coordinator. He has 20 years of experience as an educator and Leader in both primary and secondary schools in the UK, New Zealand and Singapore. Justin has presented at national NZ conferences and participated in national curriculum design. Justin believes that learning should be child centred, authentic and allow opportunities to create and take action.

Josie Wang
Management Representative and Accreditations Manager
MEd (Monash, Aus), BSc (Hawaii, USA)

Josie has had many years of experience in the private education industry in Singapore with two previous appointments at James Cook University and MindChamps, where she handled Student Counselling, Client Relations and Programme Services. Josie holds a Bachelor’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University, USA and a Master in Education (Leadership, Policy & Change) from Monash University, Australia.
