Withdrawal Policy & Procedure

Nexus International School (Singapore)'s Withdrawal Policy is fair and reasonable that allows the students to withdraw from the School, as well as for the School to withdraw students in accordance to the Expulsion Policy and Fee Payment Policy. The withdrawal policy outlines the various types of withdrawal situations and the refund eligibility. In addition, it also states the time taken to process withdrawal requests. The withdrawal process is aligned with the policy ensuring that all withdrawal requests are processed effectively and efficiently.

The students can withdraw from the School or be withdrawn by the School in the following conditions:

1.

Withdrawal Due to Non-Delivery of Course:

The School will notify the Student within three (3) working days upon knowledge of any of the following:

(i)    It does not commence the Course on the Course Commencement Date;
(ii)   It terminates the Course before the Course Commencement Date;
(iii)  It does not complete the Course by the Course Completion Date;
(iv)  It terminates the Course before the Course Completion Date;
(v)   It has not ensured that the Student meets the course entry or matriculation requirement as
        set by the organisation stated in Schedule A in the Student Contract within any stipulated
        timeline set by the Council for Private Education (CPE); or
(vi)  The Student’s Pass application is rejected by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority
        of Singapore (ICA).

The Student should be informed in writing of alternative study arrangements (if any). Upon receiving the School’s notification, the Student may withdraw from the Course by submitting a written notice of withdrawal.

2.

Withdrawal Due to Other Reasons

In order to withdraw from the course for any reason other than those stated above, the Student must submit a written notice of withdrawal specifying the effective date that the Student intends to withdraw from the school roll. The school roll refers to the School's database of attending students. Once a Student has been removed from the school roll, he/she will no longer be entitled to attend the Course. The School will, as soon as resonably practicable upon receipt of such written notice, arrange for the Student's removal from the school roll.

3.

Withdrawal During Cooling-Off Period

The School will provide the Student with a cooling-off period of seven (7) working days after the date that the Contract has been signed by both parties. The Student can submit a written notice of withdrawal to the School within the cooling-off period, regardless of whether the Student has started the course or not.

4.

Withdrawal Due to Expulsion

The student’s enrolment can be withdrawn by the School if the student has committed serious disciplinary misconduct or a criminal offence. The Principal shall act in accordance with the School’s policy on discipline and expulsion in all such cases.

5.

Suspension for Non-Payment of Fees
The School may, with written notice, suspend a student if the fees remain unpaid twenty-eight (28) days after the school start date. A student who has been suspended at any time when fees are unpaid will be deemed withdrawn without notice seven (7) days from the date of suspension.

Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw due to other reasons and during the cooling-off period and not relating to non-delivery of course, expulsion and non-payment of fees is required to submit a completed withdrawal form to Admissions & Student Services. The Withdrawal Form can be downloaded here and is obtainable at the Admissions & Student Services. The School’s Refund Policy will apply accordingly. Upon receipt of the duly completed withdrawal form, the Admissions & Student Services team will respond to the withdrawal request within seven (7) working days. The School will take a maximum of four (4) weeks to complete the withdrawal process.

Student's Pass

International Students who withdraw from the School their Student’s Passes will be cancelled within three (3) days of the date that the student is removed from the school roll. The School is obliged to lodge an e-cancellation with the ICA (Immigration Checkpoints Authority). In order for the School to be able to proceed with the e-cancellation and to ensure that all compulsory information is correct, students must indicate in the withdrawal form both the last day at the School and the reason(s) for withdrawal.

School Transfers

The transfer policy of the School governs student transfers to and from another school within the Taylor’s Schools. There are six schools and all, except Nexus International School (Singapore), are located in Malaysia. Students who are interested for such school transfer are to enquire with the Admissions for advice on the application procedures. This policy, however, does not govern student transferring to another private education institution (PEI) in Singapore. Students who wish to transfer to another PEI in Singapore would be treated and processed as a withdrawal for other reasons.

Course Transfers

Course transfer (within the year groups at Nexus International School(Singapore)) is very rare and only applies to exceptional cases where they have been assessed by the respective Heads of School and approved by the Principal. A new student contract will be drawn up for signing once the course transfer is approved.
