We believe that children benefit from diversity and that all children deserve an excellent, child-centered education. At Nexus you will see learners working together and caring for others in a supportive environment in and beyond the classroom. Our learners develop a deep empathy and understanding of others which helps them to thrive in a diverse and globalised world.
Our inclusive admissions policy means that Nexus learners are widely varied in their abilities, skills and needs. In order to develop the varied gifts and talents of our learners, the learning journey itself is inclusive.
 

Differentiation

With diverse learners we can expect that children will be working on skills at many different levels. We design the learning experiences, using a range of differentiation strategies, to ensure that all learners achieve their best and are challenged appropriately.
 
Content - what the student needs to learn or how the student will get access to the information
Processes - activities in which the student engages in order to make sense of or master the content
Products - culminating projects that ask the student to rehearse, apply, and extend what he or she has learned in a unit
Learning Environment - the way the classroom works and feels
 
The use of ongoing assessment and flexible grouping makes this a successful approach to learning.
 

Additional Support

A large team of Learning and English Language Support integrators co-plan with classroom teachers to support differentiated learning experiences, as well as working directly with learners and families.
