Learning Support

Learning Support staff promote and support inclusive practices throughout the school.  They follow an intervention sequence that includes assessments, meeting and liaising with teachers, learners, families and guardians. As part of the intervention process outside agencies and specialists may be involved.

Ecological assessments, diagnostic assessments and collaborative data gathering identify the specific needs of learners. This informs the development of actions plans and or learner profiles that are collaboratively designed, monitored and reviewed as appropriate. The focus is for strategies to be implemented within the classroom.

Learning Support staff work with all teachers to ensure that classrooms are inclusive and aim to meet the needs of all learners in the school.
