Green Innovation Week 2021

15.11.2021

It was Green Innovation Week (15 – 19 November) at Nexus! The learners were involved in a variety of different activities throughout the week.

We introduced the Power Challenge where learners had a go at biking and rowing to see how much energy they can generate and if they could possibly match the required power needed for Nexus’ campus to run.

Year 9 learners were also given a Hackathon challenge to innovate and ideate sustainable solutions for our in-house caterer, Victus Catering in the areas of recycling, food wastage and food sourcing. We heard of amazing ideas such as recycling and making recycle bins more user-friendly.

We hope to incorporate some of these wonderful ideas on campus alongside Victus Catering and we can’t wait to share more updates with you!

On Friday, the #GreenInnovation challenge was for our learners to use recycled ♻️  materials and textile waste to create their own bespoke hats and outfits!

Amazing details went into these hats and outfits and we would like to commend the effort into creating them! We hope that through this week’s activities and classes, our learners learnt more about recycling and how we can all play a part in reducing, recycling and reusing in different aspects of our lives – even in what we wear.

Great work once again to our learners, parents and staff for showing us these amazing fashion creations!
