Marcela Ellerbrock
An accomplished multilingual communicator, Marcela believes that languages open doors and, most importantly, provide insight to other peoples’ lives and cultural heritage. Originally from Mexico, Marcela has lived and worked in Switzerland, Norway, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States of America, and has considered Singapore home for the past 20 years. As a citizen of the world, she values cultural diversity and is an avid promoter of mutuality and respect in all contexts. Marcela encourages her young learners to take chances and make mistakes as upon reflection, these moments are when a person learns the most. She is a committed and passionate teacher who seeks to make the learning of a new language a fun and positive experience by making her classroom an interactive, innovative, and activity-full environment conducive for learning. With over 12 years experience in international education systems teaching Spanish, French, and English as an Additional Language, she understands the challenges and rewards of a new language acquisition. In addition to being a linguist, Marcela is passionate about the arts, most particularly the ballet.
