Fiona Lewis, Head of Primary School, is passionate about the quality and vigor of teaching and learning across Nexus International School (Singapore). 

Paul is from the United Kingdom and graduated with a degree in Physical Education with Primary Education from Leeds University. He taught for 4 years in the north of England before moving to the Middle East, where he spent 12 years working at a school in Qatar.

Steve is a passionate future-focussed educator and leader with twenty years of teaching experience in the UK and Spain. After teaching Primary in a prep school in the UK for three years, Steve embarked on an international teaching career in Spain, fulfilling the positions of Head of Primary in a school in Pamplona, Head of Secondary in a school in Ibiza, before becoming founding principal of schools in Barcelona and Mallorca.

Kerstin Stark moved from Scotland to Singapore with her family in 2008. She has taught both adults and children in a variety of

Kimberly is a motivated and experienced teacher with a passion for providing meaningful and challenging learning experiences.

Katie has taught in the UK for 9 years. She is a passionate early years teacher and her purpose as an educator is to inspire and challenge children to be independent, curious and inquisitive life-long learners.

Karen hails from New Zealand where her teaching career began more than 25 years ago. She started teaching in public schools where she taught intermediate aged children and core music.

Niamh is an energetic and passionate educator who has been teaching since 2008. In 2015, she left Ireland with her husband Sean and moved overseas.

Prior to joining Nexus in 2016, Lyn Hart was awarded the AGS NEiTA (National Excellence in Teaching Award) in Australia, being recognised as one of the most outstanding teachers in the country for her creativity, dedication and innovation. She aims to create a community of young learners, where each child values the importance of their own education.

Since arriving at Nexus Singapore in 2011, Bhavana Nair has enjoyed being involved in the development of the learning environment and other aspects of the Nexus curriculum, and teaching Yoga and Mindfulness to her learners. She is a committed Early Childhood teacher who believes every child can succeed when presented with the right learning opportunities, and continues to be in awe of their ability to teach as well as to learn.

Susan Sanderson has taught primary in international schools in China, Egypt, Kuwait and Dubai, developing a strong interest in the special requirements of bilingual classrooms. This led her to pursue and complete a Master of Education in Bilingualism in Education from Birmingham University. Susan joins the Year 2 team as Assistant Phase Leader after having taught Year 1 since joining Nexus in 2012.

Clare graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College.

Katrina Jones is a passionate and enthusiastic educator who believes in giving every child the best opportunity to develop their curiosity for learning. A Primary teacher who specialises in Early Years education, she has extensive knowledge and understanding that brings insightful and creative practices to the Phase 2 team. 

Katharina is a caring and passionate educator who firmly believes in the power of building positive relationships within the learning space to allow learners to be open to taking risks and to make meaningful connections.

Tamara comes from a multicultural background, having grown up in both Papua New Guinea and Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Education (Primary) in 2005, Tamara taught in both the public and private education sectors in Australia.

With her passion for teaching, Zehra Shariff has been teaching in international schools in Singapore for the past seven years across a wide range of age groups and abilities. Her teaching philosophy is to facilitate curoisity for learning while building confidence and independence amongst her learners.

Originally from the UK, Catharine likes to sing and perform. She believes these qualities can help build an engaging environment.

James Atkins has achieved an impressive number of degrees from universities around the world. He is originally from Canada and has been working overseas for the last thirteen years. This year marks his fifth year at Nexus and eleventh year in Singapore.

Having taught in New Zealand for nearly 5 years, Aaron recently moved to Singapore with his business-savvy wife and 2 daughters.

Ryan began as a Year 3 and 4 Classroom Assistant with Nexus when he first arrived in Singapore in 2017. Since 2019 he has been co-teaching in Year 3 and 5 while completing his Post-Graduate Certificate in Education from Warwick University.

With a diverse teaching experience that spans more than 6 years across various schools in India and Singapore, Bharti is thrilled to be able to share her knowledge and learnings with students at Nexus.

Although originally from the UK, Rachel Malster spent her childhood in Brunei and has been living and working in North Africa, Asia and Europe, particularly Spain, for more than twenty years. Rachel believes that learning should be inclusive and child-centred, and strives to ensure all learners develop a love of learning.

Kate Bennett goes by many titles, some of her favourite include wife, mother, teacher, motivator and coach.

Suzie has been a member of the Nexus family since 2019, starting out as a Classroom Assistant in Kindergarten.

Rick is from Nova Scotia, Canada where he obtained a degree in Recreation Management.

Originally from New Zealand, Peter Derrick used to teach in the local and international schools in New Zealand and Shanghai (China) respectively before his current position in Nexus. In the classroom, Peter is dedicated to his learners, striving to lift the level of achievement for every individual.

Susan Kelly trained at Westminster College, Oxford and enjoyed teaching in schools in London for several years before moving overseas. Having taught at a wide range of schools, she optimises her extensive experience and knowledge by catering to how children learn best, in different situations.

Having taught in his home country of Ireland for ten years, Seán embarked on his international teaching adventure with his wife Niamh as they worked teaching in schools in the Middle East and Asia.

Gerry Thomson is originally from Vancouver, Canada, and has lived in Singapore for two years before joining Nexus in 2019.

Angela has developed a love of inquiry-based learning and believes in the importance of cultivating strong relationships with learners, while finding exciting ways to continually spark their curiosity and creativity.

Susie moved to Singapore from the United Kingdom in 2019 with her husband and three daughters. With over 15 years of teaching experience, she is delighted to join the team at Nexus.

Originally from Northumberland in the UK, David has worked in education for the last twenty years.

Sonya Thompson joined our Nexus community in 2016. Her teaching experience includes her home country of New Zealand, as well as England and Switzerland. She is passionate about providing opportunities for learners to develop and apply a growth mindset.

Passionate about the world of education, Serene has over 13 years of experience teaching a wide range of year groups in various school systems.

A keen sportsman in both basketball and swimming when he was younger, coaching others served as a springboard for Allan Bilney's career into education. Sixteen years later, Allan has worked in a diverse range of subjects and schools, in Australia, England, Thailand and Singapore. He is highly passionate to make curriculum links to physical and outdoor education, supporting learners to push themselves outside of their comfort zone to succeed.

With fourteen years of teaching experience and counting, Geraldine has taught both the Singapore and International curriculum, specialising in English and Mathematics.

Pippa is a Year 3 teacher from Canada. She has extensive experience developing and teaching lessons in the Primary Years Programme and strives to create an environment where students engage in authentic inquiry and are supported and challenged to become independent and self-aware learners.

Born and raised in Canada, Heather lived in Barbados for five years before moving to Singapore in 2022.

With ten years of teaching experience (seven of which have been international), Jessica has been exposed to a variety of teaching approaches, including a Reggio Emilia school where she developed an appreciation for self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven settings.

Originally from Singapore, Michelle started her education journey as a third-culture kid, having experienced an extensive range of curriculum during her formative years. Michelle finally settled back in Singapore after further studies in Australia and has taught in multiple international schools across the Early Years and Primary.

Heather is an energetic and enthusiastic art educator, originally from the US. Previously, she has taught in Hong Kong, Israel and Albania.

Jewel is an enthusiastic, experienced teacher who works with Early Years and Primary Arts learners.

With seventeen years of teaching experience, Meher Verghese believes in creating an environment where learners can successfully develop their ideas through research, exploration and reflection. She strives to evoke interest in Visual Art among her learners and deepen their thinking towards the subject.

Charlie Proctor has 15 years experience as an EAL and Primary school teacher.

Jessica has been teaching Bilingual and Multilingual Learners for over a decade.

Will Porter has been teaching English language learners of many ages in various countries for the last 15 years.

Jonathan has been teaching English for the past 12 years. He moved to Singapore from Cambridge, UK with his wife and young daughter.

Jenny Gong has a Master’s degree in Asian language and literature from the University of Washington, U.S.A. and a B.A. in Chinese language and literature from Shandong University, China. 

Kathy has been teaching Mandarin as a foreign language across a range of ages in international settings for 7 years in Malaysia and Hong Kong before her move to Singapore with her husband and newborn in 2018. 

Leanne is greatly passionate about education and has been teaching Chinese in international schools in Singapore for more than 10 years. She believes that everyone learns in their own unique way and enjoys using a variety of teaching stategies to ensure that every learner achieves their goals while taking delight in their learning.

Linda graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Literature and also obtained a Masters of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.

Originally from Taiwan, Ivy Chang joined Nexus in 2012. She completed her education in the United States of America training to teach Chinese as a foreign language at the National Taiwan University.

Yijie is a professional teacher who has more than twenty years experience in teaching Chinese. Her perspective towards teaching is that the role of a teacher goes both ways; that the teacher learns from learners just as much as the latter do from the former. 

Zoe Zhou came to Singapore from China at 2010 and has worked as an international school teacher since. She is an experienced language teacher who has worked with learners of various levels and also taught the bilingual program.

With big goals in mind, Andy is in the midst of working towards achieving three major milestones here at Nexus - preparing for the National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership, developing and embedding the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and further developing the Mother Tongue Programme for the school. He is committed to motivating learners of all ages to develop their confidence and interest in both their existing and new language(s)

Claire Jefferson was born and raised in the UK, where she began her teaching career in a wide range of schools, both State and Private. She joined Nexus in 2013 and since then, loves being part of the Nexus community, especially working with a diverse age range of learners and sharing new experiences with her home room.

An accomplished multilingual communicator, Marcela believes that languages open doors and, most importantly, provide insight to other peoples’ lives and cultural heritage.

Deeply passionate for music, Clare Lambert has always been involved in a music-related role growing up. Her work experience has seen her being the previous Head of Music, Head of the Arts, Faculty Leader and Co-Chair of FOBISIA Music. Currently she is the Subject Leader for music at NISS after a career in teaching music across Asia in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Christopher Jung is a music specialist who graduated with a PGCE from University of Nottingham and a BMus from Berklee College of Music. He seeks to provide engaging and creative music lessons for young children in hopes of instilling a love for music in them, by incorporating the Kodály approach with music and movement.

Originally from the North East of England, Kevin is a life-long learner. After graduating from University of Hull with a BA Hons in Creative Music Technology, he found joy in sharing his knowledge by coordinating and delivering a variety of music workshops and enthusiastically teaching instrumental lessons in private and public schools.

Natassja is from South Africa and started teaching 12 years ago, after studyng music at UKZN. She started teaching in public schools in South Africa, where she taught learners from ages 5-13 music, dance and drama. 

Coach Adrian teaches the primary swim curriculum and heads the Junior performance squad.

Coach Dhill is currently coaching the Senior performance squad. He was a national swimmer from 2004 - 2014 for the Philippines and he competed in the World Championships, South East Asian Games and other International Competitions to name a few.

Coach Isaac is one of Nexus's primary and secondary swimming curriculum and junior swimming team coaches.

John is an enthusiastic teacher of PE and Sports. He has a keen interest in promoting wellbeing and continuous learning.

Coach Larisa is one of Nexus' key contributors to the school's rapidly growing swimming programme and is currently leading the Primary swimming curriculum. Her energy and background as a former national swimmer have inspired many young learners to pursue the sport. 

Dale is an experienced educator who has worked in diverse settings such as schools in Australia, Malaysia and the UK.

Robert is a Singapore-based professional swimming coach from Australia. He is enthusiastic about all sports and is passionate about helping learners reach their goals, no matter how small. Afterall, a thousand mile journey begins with one step.

Russell is from the Scotland and has 20 years teaching experience. 17 years of this was in Scotland before a move to the international sector where he taught in Madrid and Milan. 

Sarah brings over a decade of international experience in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore to Nexus and the Primary PHE team.

Originally from New Zealand, Anna Shaw has taught internationally in countries such as Kazakhstan, Thailand and now Singapore. She joined Nexus in 2014 as a homeroom teacher in Elementary School and has loved the experience of working with children in the school's unique innovative learning environment.

Anjali has over 14 years of teaching experience, of which, he has spent 7 years and counting across acclaimed IB international schools across India and Singapore.

Sabrina was born in Singapore and graduated from Birmingham City University with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Early Childhood Studies.

Heather joins the Nexus community from an established international school in Hong Kong where she was Vice Principal.

With over seven years education sector experience in the UK and ten years in Singapore, Stephanie Hughes is our key driver for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the development of the school's Drama, Art, Music and Dance culture. 

Duncan comes to Nexus International School with over 16 years of experience in education. After eight years of teaching in the UK, Duncan moved to Hong Kong, beginning his relationship with the International Baccalaureate.

Greg Walasek is a creative and inspiring Visual Art educator with over 14 years of international teaching experience across various countries, including South Korea, Singapore and Brazil.

Joanna teaches across both Primary and Secondary in her role as a specialist Visual Arts teacher. She also has a keen interest in the IBDP years through her role as the CAS Coordinator and as a teacher of TOK. 

With seventeen years of teaching experience, Meher Verghese believes in creating an environment where learners can successfully develop their ideas through research, exploration and reflection. She strives to evoke interest in Visual Art among her learners and deepen their thinking towards the subject.

Aysha comes from a mixed English and Turkish background and recently moved from Turkey to join Nexus after working for an IB school for 14 years. She enjoys working with a range of age groups across Primary and Secondary.

Having grown up as a Third Culture Kid herself, this experience has provided Deborah a keen interest in working with bilingual learners, as she understands the challenges and joys of living and studying in various countries. 

Marianne has taught in Singapore for seven years before joining Nexus, and collectively has over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience in Singapore, Thailand and the UK.

Steve hails from Johannesburg, South Africa where he was fortunate to grow up in the multicultural and diverse sport mad Rainbow Nation. He started his teaching career in 2002 and has gone on to teach young learners, teens and adults specialising in Bilingual and Multilingual Languages, Teacher Training (CELTA) and IELTS in Johannesburg and Bangkok.

Jim Bevan comes with many years of pastoral experience at The British School Kathmandu as well as in a large comprehensive school in Bath, UK. Since joining Nexus in 2014, he has enjoyed introducing learners to fantastic opportunities such as’ Junior Achievement - Company of the Year’ and ‘Young Founders School’ as he has a passion for enterprise outside the classroom.

Kevin Ohn has 30 years of experience in the investment research and asset management industry before joining the teaching profession.

Tiana's journey in international education began as a student at Cairo American College. Her goal is to help her learners become confident communicators and critical thinkers.

Hemangi is a passionate Computer Science teacher who has been teaching for more than 8 years.

Norayr is a well-travelled, experienced and enthusiastic Computer Science teacher who strives to improve the gender balance and make Computer Science classes more appealing to female learners.

In his role as Digital Learning Coach (DLC) and Apple Distinguished Educator, Ed Bailey facilitates innovative learning experiences using the latest technologies across both the Primary and Secondary schools. In addition to his DLC role, he also leads the designing and operating the Nexus Makerspace to share his passion for Digital Design and Fabrication and hands-on experiential learning.

Growing up in Slovakia, Vicki has lived and taught in the UK for over 25 years. She has taught a wide range of subjects to varying range of ages and abilities over her teaching career.

A vocal advocate of arts, cultural and linguistic education, Gadi aims to activate his learners’ natural curiosity in a safe and nurturing environment where they continually surprise themselves in their achievements.

Hailing from Co Donegal, Ireland, Aine Massey is a passionate educator who believes in the importance of innovation and inclusion within the classroom as well as building positive relationships between all members of the Nexus community. When pursuing her Postgraduate Diploma in Education, she took it a step further by completing it through the medium of the Gaelic language, at NUIG, Galway.

Passionate about including and inspiring her students in their studies of English, Clare comes to Nexus with over 12 years of experience, formerly teaching in the UK, Oman and China.

An enthusiastic member of the Secondary English department and teacher in charge of the IB School Supported Self Taught Literature course (SSST), Kate Ellicott is an experienced teacher of the IGCSE and IB, as well as KS3. Originally from New Zealand, Kate has been teaching English for fourteen years, with international experience in Sri Lanka and Thailand prior to Singapore.

Michael joins the English team with 11 years of experience teaching in the UK, Malaysia and China.

Working in Asia for the first time, Nicola has taught English in schools in the UK, Ecuador and most recently at an international school in Spain. Her focus is on developing strong relationships with her learners to understand their individual needs, and using creative methods to deliver engaging lessons.

Nivashini brings over a decade of teaching experience to the Nexus family. As a former counseling psychologist with a zeal for English, Nivashini has trained in CELTA and is currently pursuing her PGDE with University of Nottingham.

Sami is a passionate and enthusiastic educator who truly values the importance of positive relationships.

Having taught in a range of different institutions in both the UK and Singapore, Will particularly likes exploring language from an analytical perspective to find hidden meaning woven into texts.

Ms Melis is from Philadelphia, USA. After receiving her B.S.E. in Social Studies Education from Millersville University, she began her teaching career in sunny Florida, teaching A.P. Human Geography and World History.

Christelle grew up between the UK and Switzerland and previously lived in Rwanda and India. 

Henry is a Humanities teacher with a specialism in Geography, with experience in both independent and selective schools.

Ronan Dockrell was born in Scotland, UK, and has worked with children in a number of locations including the USA and Italy before graduating with a degree in History, Politics and Professional Education.

Fairly new to the Nexus family, Sarah Baldock arrived in Singapore in 2018 with her family from the UK. She comes with fifteen years of teaching experience, specialising in both Pastoral Care and Curriculum Leadership. In the classroom, Sarah is passionate about focusing on personalising the needs of the individual learner, and raising aspirations, expectations and achievements.

Vicky Holdcroft is an experienced and dedicated educator who has been teaching for over twenty years. Originally from the UK, she has also taught in Brazil and the Netherlands. Vicky enjoys encouraging her learners to think for themselves and question the world around them. She is also a Principal Examiner and Lead Author for the IBO and is passionate about improving the quality and consistency of international exams.

In his twenty years as an international teacher, James has been grateful for the opportunity to help learners to develop academic rigour and an understanding of themselves, their ability to affect positive change in the world, as well as their social responsibility.

Lisa Smith was born in the UK where she spent a decade working in various schools and colleges after graduation. After taking a gap period of extensive travelling, she then worked in various countries in Asia as a teacher, such as Shanghai (China) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and now Singapore, where she has been since 2013.

Manuela O’Reilly has extensive experience as a teacher of Mathematics in the UK, Melbourne and Sydney where she taught MYP Maths and Science and latterly, Head of Year 10.

For Preeti, it is a rewarding experience to teach. She teaches so that she can learn more about the world and all of the endless possibilities that fresh minds present to her every day.

Rita Wong grew up in Canada, where she studied mathematical biology in university.

Sonny Feng works with a dedicated team of tutors to support our IGCSE learners in this critical stage of their education. With fourteen years of teaching experience under his belt, he recently became an examiner for IBO.

Originally from the UK, Alex grew up with a passion for the natural world and drive to understand it better. Alex has taught science in both the UK and China before moving to Singapore and joining Nexus.

Fabio was born in the UK to Italian parents, and has always seen the world as an international community. From a young age, he was fascinated with how things worked and would regularly take things apart and rebuild them, much to his family’s annoyance.

Jozef left his country of Slovakia almost 20 years ago to become an international teacher. Jozef has taught IBDP Biology, Psychology and Environmental Science in England, Romania, China, Vietnam and now in Singapore. Currently, he is an IBDP examiner and the co-author of online content platform for DP Psychology students. Jozef consistently strives to keep up a positive relationship with his learners, by understanding them as individuals and what their behaviour motivators are.

Judy is Canadian and graduated with a Biochemistry degree from the University of Calgary.

Originally from India, Rohit lived in the UK for the last 14 years prior to joining Nexus in 2019. During his time in the UK he has followed his passions by achieving an integrated masters in physics and philosophy, and also a masters in education.

Shabrina has been a member of the Nexus family since 2020, starting out as a Science technician in Secondary.

Sylvia Klinzing was born in the Philippines and moved to the US to take her Masters degree after a year of working as a research assistant at the Marine Science Institute. Since graduating, she has enjoyed teaching Science for more than twenty years and has served as a Head of Science in two schools, as well as a consultant at Sun Associates, an educational technology evaluation and integration company.

Born and raised in the North of England, Tamzin attended one of the top state schools in the UK before achieving an Integrated Masters in Physics, specialising in defence applications of Particle Physics.

Taylor Bernard has over nine years of experience teaching in Canada, Tanzania, Germany, and China.

Hailing from China, Darcy joined Nexus in 2022.

Gabrielle Zhou was born and raised in Shanghai and moved to Singapore in 2006 with her family. She brings with her many years of work experience teaching Chinese as an additional language in international schools and has just recently joined the Nexus family in 2018.

Jenny Gong has a Master’s degree in Asian language and literature from the University of Washington, U.S.A. and a B.A. in Chinese language and literature from Shandong University, China. 

Liu Ning is originally from China and comes with nineteen years of teaching experience. Specialising in teaching the IGCSE and IBDP programs, she strives to provide them the ability to understand and respect one another through multicultural learning, educating them to be global citizens of today.

Scarlett is an experienced Chinese Specialist with over 6 years of teaching experience as a Bilingual Homeroom Teacher in the PYP Programme.

Delphine Touron brings with her an eighteen year wealth of experience in teaching the French and Spanish languages in Secondary schools, in various countries; namely England, Egypt, Mexico, India, Brunei and Singapore. She has a passion for education and believes that it is one of the strongest means to unite people from different countries and cultures for a more peaceful world and sustainable future.

Julien has had the pleasure of teaching French internationally for 15 years.

Steven Williams joins Nexus after 7 years teaching in the Private Sector as a Director of Music in the UK. 

Bevan Moriaty is the school's Director of Sport and Physical and Health Education teacher, having brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from his proud home in New Zealand. He oversees the organising and directing of our Nexus representative sport programme and is the Head Coach of our girls' Volleyball programme and the Chairperson of ACSIS Volleyball in Singapore.

Frank is an enthusiastic Health & Physical Education Teacher who is focused on building relationships within the Nexus community and facilitating new and interesting sporting opportunities for learners.

Graeme Massey is a teacher with an immense passion for physical activity and educating young people who leads the Physical and Health Education department across the school. Arriving in Singapore from New Zealand in 2011, he has been a part of Nexus International School (Singapore) since its beginnings in 2. 

Coach Isaac is one of Nexus's primary and secondary swimming curriculum and junior swimming team coaches.

Katy is an educational leader with over 12 years of experience teaching Physical and Health Education in England, Australia and Singapore.

Originally from Cape Brenton Island, located just off the coast of Nova Scotia in Canada, Karen and her husband left in 2006 to travel and work overseas.

Sabrina was born in Singapore and graduated from Birmingham City University with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Early Childhood Studies.

Hailing from Co Donegal, Ireland, Aine Massey is a passionate educator who believes in the importance of innovation and inclusion within the classroom as well as building positive relationships between all members of the Nexus community. When pursuing her Postgraduate Diploma in Education, she took it a step further by completing it through the medium of the Gaelic language, at NUIG, Galway.

Hayley has always been passionate about working with children and has over fifteen years’ experience in providing therapy and academic support for students with communication difficulties and diverse learning needs within the UK, Hong Kong and Thailand.

Stephanie Kroeker is an experienced inclusive educator and coach with over 12 years of experience.

Vargini Ledchumykanthan is originally from the UK and come with 26 years of Inclusive Education. Vargini brings  a passion and enthusiasm to address barriers to learning and ensure all learners meet their full potential. 

Daniel is a professional counsellor with broad experience working with children, youths and adults in the education, government and private sector.

Lori is a professional counsellor and a therapeutic play practitioner with broad experience working with children and adolescents in both private and government sectors. 

Zanthe is a professional counsellor and clinical trauma specialist with a rich experience in the mental health field.
