Fabio was born in the UK to Italian parents, and has always seen the world as an international community. From a young age, he was fascinated with how things worked and would regularly take things apart and rebuild them, much to his family’s annoyance. Fabio followed this interest throughout his academic and professional career – earning a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics. After 5 years working in the Aerospace and Energy sectors, Fabio took some time off to backpack around Southeast Asia, where Fabio realised his true passion was in education. After qualifying from the Researchers in Schools Programme, Fabio taught at a state school in the UK for 5 years where he became head of Physics. In the classroom, Fabio encourages learners to not be afraid of mistakes, as they present perfect learning opportunities and he wants his learners to embrace them. He uses his real-life industry experience to make theory more applicable to learners and to help them understand where Physics and Maths could take them. Outside the science lab, Fabio enjoys hiking, travelling and trying local foods. He loves reading and is always up for discussing the latest Physics news, educational research article or Haruki Murakami novel.
