Ed Gibbons

Bilingual and Multilingual Learning Specialist

Masters of Arts (Honours) - University of Aberdeen, UK

gibbons.e@nexus.edu.sg

Having worked as an archaeologist and picture researcher, Ed Gibbons decided he should follow in his parents’ and three siblings’ footsteps and try teaching. Seventeen years later he is still at it, having taught English as a second language in Poland, Spain, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Morocco and Singapore. He joined Nexus last year in the English Language Support department - now known as the Bilingual Multilingual Learners (BMLs) - and loves the excitement, energy and community-feel of Nexus. He is passionate about his learners (and everyone else’s!) developing their vocabulary as he feels it is the basis of second language development. Ed enjoys sports, such as cricket, football and cycling, but as the years tick by he finds he spends more time bird-watching.
