Inspired from the teaching philosophy of Reggio Emilia, Lisa Cheyne believes that the learning environment for children should invite wonder and curiosity, providing them with challenge and promoting independence. She has eleven years of experience leading Early Childhood practitioners in various schools, both in the UK and Singapore, and is now in her fifth year teaching at Nexus. Lisa is passionate about the importance of learner-educator relationships and the role the latter plays in shaping a child’s love for learning. After successfully implementing daily mindfulness sessions with our youngest learners, Lisa is an enthusiastic advocate of the benefits of mindful practices upon children’s learning and well-being. Outside the classroom, Lisa enjoys cycling, yoga, exploring different countries and cooking vegetarian dishes.
