Jenny Burgess is an enthusiastic advocate for the arts in the education scene since she first started teaching Drama in 1993. She strongly believes in the power of story in performance to bring both meaning and joy to our lives. Jenny brings considerable energy and good humour to her drama lessons and seeks to ignite in learners a love of storytelling through the medium of theatre. Jenny has directed a variety of shows at Nexus and is particularly interested in the fusion of science and technology in the staging of both straight dramas and musicals. In addition to her degrees, she has earned post-graduate qualifications in Shakespeare Studies (Open University) and Community Theatre (Central School of Speech and Drama). When she is not teaching or directing, Jenny enjoys writing and has completed several plays, screenplays and radio dramas; some of which have been short-listed for various competitions and production companies. She lives in Singapore with her husband and football crazy son.
