Michael is a Malaysian Chinese who has been teaching in Singapore for more than eleven years. His fascination towards Economics is due to looking into how psychological, cognitive, emotional, cultural, and social factors affect people’s decisions. As a teacher, he stresses on the importance of true understanding and the ability to make meaningful connections between different topics within the subject and seeing the big picture. He emphasises the importance of setting clear directions (learning intentions) and clear targets (success criteria) before learning a new topic. He believes that effective learning follows a continuous cycle of learning, assessment, feedback, and monitoring. During his free time, Michael enjoys reading and cooking.
