A LEARNER-CENTRIC APPROACH

Our Primary Years Programme (PYP) puts the learner as the navigator of their own journey. Through inquiry-based exploration, we encourage learners to ask big questions, dive deep into topics, and think critically about the world around them.

This doesn’t stop at academics. We also nurture their emotional, social and physical development, shaping confident, independent individuals who are ready to explore and create opportunities for themselves.

INDIVIDUALISED LEARNING

Every learner’s journey is unique. Our approach to continuous assessment ensures that we stay closely connected to each child’s growth, tailoring learning experiences to match their distinct needs and strengths.

Our teachers act as facilitators who support learners in their exploration of topics that interest and engage them. We encourage our learners to take an active role in their own education while ensuring they get the guidance they need to succeed.

STAYING CONNECTED

We see the families of our learners as invaluable partners in each child’s educational journey, so we create regular opportunities for parents to engage with their child’s development.

By sharing insightful learning summaries to dynamic exhibitions of learners’ work through Seesaw, we nurture a strong home-school connection that leads to more effective support and stronger educational outcomes.

Curiosity leads, learning follows Inquiry Based  Learning?

  • Inquiry For Learning

As a cornerstone of the IB programme, learners are challenged to make inquiries instead of simply absorbing facts. By posing questions, problems or scenarios, they guide their learning. This process of inquiry helps the learners develop critical thinking skills, make connections with prior learning and draw meaningful connections. As learners develop their inquiry skills, they are empowered to drive their own learning journey, cultivating crucial soft skills that allow them thrive independently with confidence.

  • NURTURING THE NATURAL CURIOSITY

Children are naturally creative and motivated to learn. By nurturing their inherent curiosity, we deepen our learners’ passion for exploration and strengthen their understanding, knowledge and skills.

Inquiry-based learning prompts children to reflect on all aspects of their growth: academic, physical and social. At Nexus, we aim to develop the child holistically by equipping them with the tools and support required to become independent lifelong learners.

  • REAL-WORLD IMPACT BY OUR LEARNERS

By creating authentic learning experiences in the classroom, learners can connect concepts and information to real-world issues and situations. This translates their lessons to awareness and meaningful action.

At the end of Primary School, our Year 6 learners create projects for the PYP exhibition, showcasing the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they have gained over their primary years during the PYP exhibition.
