We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding IGCSE results of our current Year 12 learners. This exceptional group started their secondary school journey during the challenging times of the pandemic in August 2020. Yet, their resilience, determination, and hard work have paid off in spectacular fashion, leading to incredible achievements both in and out of the classroom.
At Nexus, our learners sit IGCSE exams through two exam boards: Cambridge, where grades are from A*-G, and Edexcel, which uses a numerical scale from 9-1 (with 9 being the highest).
Here are just some of their headline achievements:
- 52% of all Cambridge IGCSE grades were an A or A*.
- 55% of all Edexcel IGCSE grades were 9-7, the equivalent of A*-A.
- Overall, an impressive 54% of all grades awarded to Nexus learners were A*-A or 9-7.
- In core subjects English and Mathematics, the most common grade awarded was an A* or 9/8.
Duncan Shiel, Deputy Head of Secondary, shares, “These outstanding results are a testament to the immense dedication of our learners, the unwavering support from their families, and the expert guidance of our Nexus teachers.”
He adds, “Achievements like this provide an excellent foundation for further success at IBDP and will help open doors as our learners begin to think about university and beyond. We look forward to continuing to support their growth in Year 12 and 13. Beyond the headline figures, these results represent countless individual success stories.
