Joining the team in 2023, Ruby Johnston is a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher who is continually inspired by the transformative power of English literature and language. Ruby pursued her love of literature at the University of Manchester where she gained a first class degree. She then trained through the vigorous TeachFirst training programme and received her PGDE through the globally esteemed Institute of Education at University College of London. Ruby endeavours to create an inclusive and safe space where learners are unafraid to to participate and can thrive off positive reinforcement. Ruby’s goal is to help learners connect formal English study with the real world, empowering learners in their unique contexts. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys playing netball, running, painting and of course, reading!
