BA(hons) Primary Education

Jessica has been exposed to a variety of teaching approaches, including a Reggio Emilia school where she developed an appreciation for self-directed, experiential learning in relationship-driven settings. She aims to create an environment where her learners can grow and embrace continuous learning.
As the Language Arts Coordinator at Nexus, Jessica is passionate about fostering a love for writing and recognising the critical role early reading plays in a child’s development. She believes that strong literacy skills are the foundation for effective communication and lifelong learning. Jessica is dedicated to creating engaging, literacy-rich environments that inspire young learners to become confident readers and expressive writers.
Jessica also places great importance on developing a growth mindset and using positive self-talk. She believes these practices are vital for breaking down educational and social barriers, enabling learners to reach their full potential. With a specialism in drama, Jessica has designed and implemented drama programmes and directed school productions while using drama as a teaching tool. Her goal is to use her creative skills to build self-esteem and well-being by enhancing interpersonal understanding through creative experiences that reinforce learning. Her aim is to provide memorable experiences that integrate communication and problem-solving skills so that her learners leave her classroom equipped with lifelong, transferable skills for success.
