For all new starters, Nexus invites families to an orientation before the first day of school to allow new families to meet with teachers and possibly make some new friends!
Everything’s easier with a friend! We match new learners with classmates who guide them through their first days, offering support, familiarity, and sometimes even assistance in their native language.
Get involved by joining our Nexus Community Group (NCG), our parent group. It is a great place to meet other parents, foster friendships, and create a strong support network that can help families settle into their new life.
With the mental wellbeing of our learners as a top priority, Nexus equips learners with strategies to navigate this big change as they adjust to a new school. We support our learners with peer-to-peer groups, counselling services and check-ins to ensure that every learner feels safe, supported and understood.
We keep parents closely involved with their child’s journey through learning management platforms like Seesaw and Canvas, alongside regular updates about events, achievements, and school life.
