WHAT ISSERVICE LEARNING?
Service learning, a core component of the IB philosophy, is an engaging teaching approach designed for all ages. It transforms abstract concepts into meaningful, real-world applications, inviting learners to actively engage with complex global issues.
WHY ISSERVICE LEARNING VALUABLE?
These experiences help learners understand the power of community involvement by building connections locally and globally to address genuine needs. Along the way, they develop key skills such as empathy, collaboration, and resilience — traits that empower them to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
SHAPINGCARING INDIVIDUALS
By stepping outside the classroom into authentic learning experiences, learners exercise their voice and choice, finding purpose in their efforts. They discover the causes that ignite their passion and learn how to create meaningful change, growing as compassionate, thoughtful changemakers.
