Karen Melski
Originally from Cape Brenton Island, located just off the coast of Nova Scotia in Canada, Karen and her husband left in 2006 to travel and work overseas. They have been living in Singapore for over 15 years now and they have twin daughters that study at Nexus.
Karen brings over 20 years of classroom and Teacher Librarian experience, having worked with K-12 years over her career. She is passionate about sharing her love of reading for pleasure and for purpose. Karen understands that learners from all grades need regular guidance in finding, evaluating and using information appropriately, so she ensures that they can find the books and answers that they need at the library.
She quotes Kate DiCamillo who said, “Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.”
