A Family-Style Dining approach for Nursery and Kindergarten with FREE meals
“What’s for lunch today?” asks the teacher. Small voices chime in, excited about the day’s menu. The teacher then points to a carrot, “Which food group does a carrot belong to?” “Fruit,” says one child, “No, it’s vegetable!” says another. “How many apple slices can you see?” “Two!” they chime together.
An innovative approach to learning
At lunchtime, in schools around the world, a unique scene unfolds. This innovative approach to lunch is a delightful blend of education and enjoyment. It’s about more than just food. It’s about bringing the art of learning right to the table, making every meal a fun and educational experience.
Parents and Guardians, get ready, because mealtime at Nexus Kindergarten and Nursery will become even more engaging!
As we close out the academic year, we’re excited to announce a new initiative for the upcoming year: Family-Style Dining at lunchtime for Nursery and Kindergarten Learners absolutely free!
Learning lunches helps develop social skills
Family-style dining offers a multifaceted learning experience for your child. These lunches are designed to help grow essential social and emotional skills such as table manners, communication, and cooperation while enjoying healthy and nutritious meals with their peers. This fosters a sense of belonging and connection within the classroom, providing valuable time for children to bond with classmates and teachers.
Healthy meal options developed by Chartwells nutritionist
Additionally, in a positive and encouraging environment, Family-Style Dining enables children to explore various healthy food options, learn about portion control, and develop positive associations with healthy eating habits. All meals will be designed in-house with the expertise of our catering supplier, Chartwells nutritionist, ensuring a well-rounded and nutritious dining experience.
Working with you, to ensure that this is a collaboration between school and home
We understand that mealtime routines vary across families. We want to work collaboratively with you to ensure a smooth transition. In the new school year, we will reach out to gather your input, discuss meal offerings, and hold taste-testing events or ‘stay-and-eat’ lunches so you can experience Family-Style Dining first hand.
Of course, you can always opt out of school supplied family meals. Additionally, children with allergies or special dietary needs will be catered to.
Current lunch options remain the same for the beginning of the school year
Lunch will continue as usual for the first few weeks of the new school year to allow for a smooth implementation of learning lunches.
We believe this initiative will complement your efforts at home and contribute significantly to your child’s overall well-being. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks!
