Karen holds a degree in Computer Science and spent 14 years working in the IT industry. With experience in multinational companies, she developed a strong adaptability to dynamic systems environments. She is also highly efficient in data organization and administrative tasks.

Beyond her technical career, Karen has a deep-rooted passion for swimming. She grew up as a student-athlete and competed as a swimmer from a very young age, which instilled in her a strong sense of sports discipline. After moving to Singapore in 2008, she continued her involvement in water sports, participating in triathlons, masters swimming, and open water events — a clear sign that her love for the water never faded. It was this passion that eventually led her to pursue a career in swim coaching.

Karen has since built extensive coaching experience, including roles at several prestigious international schools in Singapore. Most recently, she coached high-performance squads at one of Melbourne, Australia’s top swim clubs.

She holds multiple certifications, including:

Accredited Development Coach – Swimming Australia (ASCTA)
Level 3 Coach – World Open Water Swimming Association
Level 2 Coach – Singapore Coaching Certification (Swimming)

Karen believes that coaching goes beyond teaching swimming skills. She sees it as an opportunity to share valuable life experiences and to positively shape attitudes through sport — a responsibility she finds both fulfilling and inspiring.
