Originally from Scotland, Ross grew up as an international school student, relocating every two to four years. These early experiences across diverse cultures and education systems have shaped his adaptable and globally minded approach to teaching. Ross holds a Master of Engineering in Aero-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, and was part of the first cohort to earn the International Qualified Teacher Status (iQTS) with a PGCE from the University of Warwick.
Before moving to Singapore, Ross taught at an American international school in South Korea and has worked across a range of curricula, including the English, Scottish, American, and IB Diploma Programme systems. He believes that science is a powerful way to nurture curiosity and develop critical thinking, and that learning should empower learners to understand their impact on the world. Ross aims to create a classroom environment where every learner feels welcomed, supported, and confident to ask questions. He strives to encourage learners to think deeply and pursue their interests beyond the standard curriculum.
Outside of school, Ross enjoys exploring the design behind games, applying scientific principles to cooking and playing Ultimate Frisbee. Some of his favourite experiments have included baking sourdough, making ice cream, and naturally carbonating beverages.
