Originally from the foothills of the Appalachian mountains in the US, Ruth has been in Singapore for over 15 years. With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she originally planned to pursue counselling. However, moving to Asia and having her own children sparked a love of language and teaching that blossomed into a full time career. With experience teaching in Singapore, Taiwan and online, she brings a multicultural viewpoint to the classroom. She loves helping learners find their voice — especially those learning English as an additional language, and is passionate about helping to bridge cultural and language barriers, community building, and making sure every learner feels seen, heard and supported. Outside of the classroom, Ruth loves the peace and serenity of the great outdoors and can often be found hiking, camping, or planning her next adventure.
