PhD in Mathematics Education (Pwani University Mombasa, Kenya) Master of Science in Education (Egerton University Nakuru, Kenya) Bachelor of Science Honours in Pure and Applied Mathematics (Moi University Nairobi, Kenya)

Tom is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 30 years of experience. Originally from Kenya, East Africa, he has taught a variety of curricula, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), in diverse educational settings.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pure and Applied Mathematics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, a Master of Science in Science Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education.
Tom’s teaching philosophy centers on connecting classroom learning to real-life applications, enabling learners to see the relevance and value of mathematics beyond academic settings. As a facilitator of learning, he promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and independent inquiry, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every learner is empowered to achieve their full potential.

In addition to his teaching expertise, he has held a number of leadership roles, including Head of Department, Examiner, Workshop Leader, Administrator of IBEN workshop center and Global Coordinator of a Teacher Preparation Program. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to both student learning and teacher development and remains deeply committed to excellence in mathematics education.
