Nexus Gets Festive With Its Annual Christmas Fair

Last Saturday, the Nexus community truly came alive as over 2,000 people joined us to celebrate the annual Nexmas Fair. It was a huge success as learners, families and staff came together to enjoy a day packed with fun, food, and festive cheer that reminded us why our community is so special.

This event is one of the two biggest gatherings we host all year (along with the International Fair in May), and it was all brought together by the incredible energy and effort of our parent community.

Festive Magic Throughout the Day

The school grounds were buzzing with activity from the moment the gates opened. The highlight for the younger learners, as always, was Santa’s Grotto. The queue stretched far, but the anticipation was worth it, with our dedicated elves working hard behind the scenes to make every child’s visit with Santa memorable.

We saw incredible creativity on display in the Arts and Crafts area. Learners were busy making everything from Christmas tree artwork to their own bracelets and unique decorations to take home.

For the more adventurous, the Dunk Tank was a major hit as always. We saw many brave learners take the plunge, but the biggest cheer came when our Principal stepped up and was successfully dunked! It was a great moment of community spirit. The giant inflatable obstacle courses and the sports games on the field kept everyone active. Our Learner Council also did a brilliant job running popular carnival games.

Our Marketplace: Community in Action

The Marketplace was a vibrant hub featuring more than 40 stalls. It was a mix of external vendors and stalls run by our very own learners and parents.

Our young entrepreneurs were fantastic, managing stalls for projects like Junior Achievement or raising money for their chosen charities. It’s inspiring to see their commitment and know that they all had a successful day!

The Nexus Community Group (NCG) stalls were some of the busiest—their popular book and toy stall and sustainable craft stall were constantly surrounded. And, of course, the goody bag stall was as popular as ever, selling out early on in the fair.

Festive Fuel

Everyone was well-fed with a great selection of food. Thank you to the delicious external food vendors who joined us, including Butcher Box, Deli Cheese Bread, and Munets Empanadas. Our NCG also ran a wonderful food stall and cafe, offering a welcome break with warm coffees and homemade treats.

A Sincere Thank You

The Nexmas Fair is a true reflection of the generosity and spirit of our Nexus family. It simply wouldn’t happen without you.

We want to send a huge thank you to every single person who attended and supported the fair, and of course a special thank you goes to the parents who spent countless hours organising the event. Your effort and commitment are truly appreciated.

Finally, thank you to the staff members who volunteered their time to help out on the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly and safely.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate together and get in the festive spirit ahead of the school break!

We can’t wait to see you all again for the International Fair in May.
