Taylor’s Schools is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child. We recognise that safeguarding and child protection are a shared responsibility and are dedicated to protecting children from harm, abuse, and neglect in all environments. Our aim is to cultivate a secure, inclusive, and supportive environment where all children and young people can grow and thrive physically, socially, emotionally, and academically.

Endorsing the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, we have implemented comprehensive policies and procedures to prevent and respond to child abuse, or neglect affecting our learners. We maintain robust safer recruitment practices to ensure the most suitable people work with our children and provide staff and volunteers with ongoing training, supervision and support to fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities.

We expect all members of our community to respect the rights and dignity of every child and to contribute to their safety and wellbeing by understanding, implementing, and supporting our child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures.

Taylor’s Schools is committed to:

•     Leading and governing a child-safe culture with clear accountability at all levels, ensuring every member of the organisation understands and fulfils their responsibility to safeguard children

•     Valuing and upholding the rights, voices, safety, wellbeing, and cultural diversity of children and young people, ensuring they feel safe, heard, respected, and empowered
•     Developing and reviewing safeguarding systems, policies, and practices collaboratively, drawing on diverse perspectives to strengthen inclusivity and effectiveness
•     Pursuing continuous improvement in safeguarding practice, recognising that safeguarding goes beyond compliance. We are committed to continually strengthening how we promote children’s safety and wellbeing, prevent abuse, and identify, respond to, and learn from safeguarding concerns.

Safer Recruitment Practices

Taylor’s Schools is committed to providing safe and supportive environments for every child and young person. We recognise that this starts with ensuring that the people who work with our students are suitable, skilled and committed to their safety and wellbeing.

We maintain robust recruitment, screening and vetting practices, supported by safeguarding training, clear expectations of professional conduct, ongoing support and accountability. All employees and adults working with children are expected to understand and uphold their responsibility to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of every child.

If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a student, please don’t hesitate to contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead or School Principal who are trained to respond to such concerns.
