Terry Gao is an experienced Chinese language educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in both China and Singapore. He holds a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Jinan University. Throughout his career, he has taught students across a wide range of age groups and language proficiency levels in international school settings.

Terry is passionate about helping learners develop confidence and competence in Chinese through meaningful communication and cultural understanding. He is guided by the Chinese saying, “Every person is born with unique talents and potential” (天生我材必有用), and believes that every student can succeed when learning takes place in a supportive, engaging, and inclusive environment. He strives to help learners discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning. Having worked with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, Terry enjoys creating lessons that are interactive, learner-centred, and connected to real-life experiences. He is committed to fostering learners who are willing to challenge themselves, embrace new opportunities, and reach their full potential.

Outside the classroom, Terry enjoys fitness training, travelling, and exploring different cultures and languages. He looks forward to sharing his passion for Chinese language and culture with the Nexus community.
