Daryl Sinclair believes every learner deserves a geography education that helps them understand how the world works together and to aspire to futures beyond the limits of our current models. With over 16 years’ experience in the classroom, Daryl has developed a curious and principled approach to teaching, one that invites students to learn from the communities and individuals in their topics rather than simply learning about them. He aspires to create a rich and inclusive geography curriculum where learners become creators of new knowledge and bring their own experiences as experts.

Daryl holds a BSc in Geography from King’s College London and both a PGCE in Geography and an MA in Development Education and Global Learning from the UCL Institute of Education. He contributes to the geography education and equity discourse through academic writing focused on equity, representation, and the role of context and communication in learning.

Singapore is Daryl’s fourth country as a full-time teacher, after the UK, China, and Germany. Daryl and his wife are looking forward to throwing themselves into life at Nexus and in the wider Singapore community. Away from school, he can usually be found practising Mandarin, exercising, or looking for wildlife in whatever green space is nearest.
