Lewis Smith
A former international athlete, Lewis originates from Edinburgh, Scotland. He has journeyed across the globe representing Great Britain in swimming competitions such as the World, Commonwealth, and European Championships. Lewis attended the University of Stirling, completing his undergraduate studies in Sport and Exercise Science before gaining his qualified teacher status through the Department for Education in the UK. He is also a FINA-approved, fully-licensed level 3 swimming coach. Lewis was previously teaching in Brussels, Belgium, at the British School of Brussels. This international experience has allowed him to develop a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and teaching methods. When not teaching PHE, Lewis will be lacing up his running shoes and hitting the pavement, running marathons, staying fit and generally leading an active lifestyle. He truly believes that a healthy body fosters a healthy mind and encourages all learners to find a positive experience from health and physical activity. For Lewis, education extends beyond the realm of academic milestones. He is deeply rooted in the philosophy of cultivating learners to evolve as exemplary individuals. As an advocate of the growth mindset, Lewis emphasises the transformative power of dedication, industriousness and honest effort.
