Shoaib Raza
Shoaib is an award-winning educator with a strong track-record of success in a mix of traditional and ultra-modern, independent schools in London. He has been a member of faculties and senior leadership teams that have completed ambitious projects and won seven national awards. He has promoted the merits of international education in over 12 different nations and 4 continents. Born and raised in London, Shoaib completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Leicester where he graduated with a BA in Management Studies (Hons). After a brief spell of working in Finance (in Kuala Lumpur) and then Marketing, he completed a PGCE in Business and Economics at the Institute of Education, UCL. He has served as a governor of an academy school, marked examinations for exam boards and volunteered for an NGO. Shoaib is also the President of his Singapore university, alumni chapter and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Shoaib subscribes to the view that true learner success should be viewed as an advancement of capability beyond the expected rate of progress. He enjoys curating new learning opportunities for learners and has engaged with an array of organisations that include universities, hospitals, Premier League football clubs and international think-tanks that influence UN policy.
Shoaib’s time away from Nexus is usually spent with his wife and two children. Fascinated by the workings of the tiger economy that is Singapore, he is borderline-obsessed with exploring the culinary delights of the island. The only time Shoaib is willing to accept underachievement is when he is watching his beloved Arsenal F.C.
