Sumathi has spent over 16 years supporting children with diverse learning needs across international school settings, working with learners aged 2 to 12. She holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Special Education along with Specialist Diplomas in Child Psychology and Special Needs Education, and is trained in structured literacy approaches including multisensory and Orton-Gillingham informed methods. She is also furthering her studies with a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs through ICEP Europe (Institute of Child Education and Psychology).
For Sumathi, every child deserves an individualised, strengths-based approach that helps them grow in confidence, both in and beyond the classroom. Fluent in English, Tamil, and Malay, she believes a child is best supported when families and educators work closely as a team.
At home, Sumathi is a proud mother of four children and pet parent to her fur baby Ollie. She loves nothing more than a good book, a baking project, and a bit of creativity through art.
