Our Year 12 learners reached a significant milestone this week with the release of their IGCSE results and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.
At Nexus, our learners sit IGCSE examinations through two prestigious boards: Cambridge, which uses an A*-G grading scale, and Pearson Edexcel, which employs a numerical scale from 9 to 1 (with 9 being the highest possible grade).
The following headline achievements highlight the success of our learners:
52% of all Edexcel IGCSE grades were 9-7, the equivalent of A*-A.
48% of all Cambridge IGCSE grades were an A* or A
Overall, an impressive 50% of all grades awarded to Nexus learners were at the A*-A or 9-7 level.
Karrie Dietz, Principal, notes that these results are “a clear indication that Nexus learners are prepared for their next steps after their IGCSE courses. We are incredibly pleased to see so many learners achieve above and beyond expectations, both in and out of the classroom.”
This year featured a long list of learners who achieved 7, 8, or 9 IGCSEs graded at 8/A* or above. Remarkably, three of our learners achieved 10 IGCSEs graded 9-7 or A*/A.
What consistently stands out about Nexus learners is the impressive breadth and depth of their achievements. This year, the most commonly awarded grade was an A* or 9/8 across multiple subjects, including:
English Literature
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Further Pure Mathematics
Chinese Foreign Language
Geography
Every learner is known, valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential.

This achievement by our learners is supported by our team of world-class educators. Ms Dietz adds, “Our teachers are more than just educators; they build strong, effective learning-focused relationships by taking the time to truly know each learner. This personalised approach allows them to support, challenge, and guide every child to reach their full potential.”
Jonathan Gunzi, Head of Secondary, shared his pride: “The sheer perseverance our learners showed throughout their examinations is evident in these wonderful results. Seeing their efforts pay off is a proud moment for the entire secondary team.”
Angelina Tee, President and CEO of Taylor’s Schools, extended her congratulations, emphasising the holistic nature of this success: “Our success is about so much more than examination results. At Nexus, learners develop the character, resilience, perseverance and ambition to strive for excellence. Every learner is known, valued and encouraged to fulfil their potential and it makes me so proud to be part of this community.”
