Nexus Swimmers to Represent Singapore on the Global Stage!
Following a sensational performance at the 2026–2027 Singapore Qualifier, nine of our athletes have earned the prestigious honour of representing both Singapore and Nexus International School at the Global School Swimming Series Finals in London this summer.
Led by Coach Adrian Ong, our squad delivered an unforgettable showcase of grit, sportsmanship, and speed, finishing the meet with an incredible tally of 31 medals:
🥇 10 Gold Medals
🥈 10 Silver Medals
🥉 11 Bronze Medals
Huge congratulations to our nine London-bound swimmers on their well-deserved selection: Carmen, Eva, Josh, Mathias, Miron, Momo, Momone, Tim, and Victor.
Representing Singapore and our school community on the international stage is the culmination of countless early-morning training sessions, discipline, and relentless determination.
Historic Benchmark Times for Miron
A major highlight of the meet came from Miron, who shattered two landmark time barriers in a single weekend:
100m Freestyle: Touched the wall in under 50 seconds
200m Freestyle: Finished in under 1 minute 50 seconds
Achieving both milestones at the same meet is an extraordinary athletic feat, showcasing the level of focus and race execution being fostered within our squad.
Inspiration from Olympic Champion Kathleen Dawson
Adding to the excitement, our swimmers had the privilege of meeting British Olympic gold medallist and European backstroke record holder Kathleen Dawson.
Hearing directly from an athlete at the peak of international swimming offered invaluable insights into mental resilience, pre-race preparation, and what it truly takes to succeed under pressure. It was an inspiring encounter that our team will carry with them all the way to the UK.
Congratulations to Coach Adrian Ong, and to our nine finalists: the entire Nexus community is cheering you on.
