Celebrating the IBDP Class of 2025: A Journey of Growth, Grit and Global Vision
Nexus’ 2025 cohort of IB learners have surpassed expectations and demonstrated excellent personal academic growth. As educators, it is immensely satisfying to witness their journeys firsthand and watch their hard work, sacrifices and dedication pay off with outstanding results that will allow them to pursue their chosen tertiary pathway.
Our learners understand that the IB Diploma is a pathway to them pursuing their passions beyond Nexus. Along with their academic growth over the two year program we have witnessed our learners grow into confident, thoughtful, and capable young individuals with a drive and desire to reach their full potential.
They have embraced the philosophies behind the IB and rose to meet its challenges, navigating one of the world’s most rigorous pre-university programmes while simultaneously taking on leadership roles, engaging in meaningful service, and exploring creative pursuits.
IBDP Results 2025
Our Principal, Simon Mann, commented on how gratifying this time of year is: “Seeing the personal commitment of our learners in their studies, coupled with the individual and collective support from the entire Nexus community, represented in the results we are celebrating, brings immense satisfaction.”
This year, our learners scored an average IB score of 35 points vs the global average of 30.58.
Even more impressively:
• 43% of our IB learners scored 35 points or more, providing them with a strong competitive edge for admission to top universities globally.
• Our top learner earned an outstanding full score of 45 points.
• 23% of our Learners achieved the Bilingual Diploma, reinforcing the truly international nature of Nexus.
Individual Support, Collective Success
Thanks to the small class sizes and personalised approach in our IBDP, our learners received close support from our dedicated educators. This extended beyond the classroom, with learners receiving continued guidance and support from a committed team of staff who empowered them with consistent feedback and encouragement in areas from careers and university pathways to extra-curricular opportunities.
Our Head of Secondary, Dr Heather Millington shares: “We are incredibly proud of the graduating class of 2025 who have shown perseverance and tenacity in their IB Diploma and IB Courses. Thanks to the strong learning focused relations the learners have had with their teachers they have been able to use their teachers guidance to achieve maximum marks in many subjects and the highest average score to date for Nexus. Many learners are now able to access their first choice courses and are going on to top ranking universities in the UK, USA, Asia and Australia. Nexus graduates will be leading the way in Medicine, Law, Business and Science.” She also extended thanks to several staff that played key roles in our learners’ success, including: Vicky Holdcroft, our IBDP coordinator, Aine Massey, our Careers and University Counsellor, Chris Kinlan, our Learning Support Integrator, and Graeme Massey, our Pastoral Care lead.
A Holistic Learning Journey
While the IB Diploma Programme is academically rigorous, it also develops well-rounded learners with its holistic approach and the inclusion of the three core components: the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Activity, Service. Through this experience, learners developed research and writing skills, honed their ability to think critically and challenge assumptions, and deepened their understanding of themselves and the communities they’re part of. Aligning closely with Nexus’ educational ethos, our learners become globally minded, self-aware individuals who are ready to contribute meaningfully beyond Nexus and into their adulthood.
Global Destinations, Lasting Impact
This year, our IBDP graduates have secured places at prestigious universities across the globe, including Russell Group institutions such as King’s College London, the University of Bristol and the University of Leeds. Others will head to the University of Amsterdam, University of Melbourne, Savannah College of Art and Design and more.
Our learners have chosen diverse and meaningful fields, including medicine, law, creative arts, psychology, engineering, and social sciences. We are proud of their ambitions and how these destinations reflect a values-driven outlook where they are not simply looking to earn degrees, but are pursuing their passions and futures.

This milestone is a shared achievement of learners, families, and educators working in partnership. We are incredibly proud of everything our 2025 cohort has achieved and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
