This week, the Nexus International School (Singapore) community gathered for our much-loved annual Iftar, the meal served at sunset to break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan. It was a wonderful evening that saw around 150 learners, staff, and parents join as one; some to break their fast together, and others to learn more and share a special evening together as a community.
The Iftar is a highlight of our school calendar and a true reflection of the many cultures that call Nexus home. It is an evening where we don’t just learn about traditions; we experience them together through shared stories and a shared meal.
Creativity and Connection with the NCG
The evening was made truly special by the Nexus Community Group (NCG). Our wonderful parent volunteers ran a fantastic array of craft and reading activities for learners to enjoy ahead of the meal, and also showcased their incredible craftsmanship by upcycling old school uniforms into beautiful, handmade table decorations. Their creativity was a brilliant example of the sustainable and resourceful spirit we value at Nexus.
