Celebrating Success at the HoneyKids Asia Awards 2025
At Nexus International School (Singapore), we’re proud to celebrate an incredible achievement at the HoneyKids Asia Singapore Education Awards 2025, where we were recognised across three major categories:
Gold: Digital Technology in Learning
Silver: International School with the Most Future-Ready Students
Gold: Sustainable School of the Year
These awards affirm the strength and innovation of our curriculum — one that empowers learners to think critically, act responsibly, and thrive in an ever-changing world.
Gold Winner — Digital Technology in Learning: Using Technology with Purpose
We’re proud to be recognised for our outstanding use of digital technology to make learning more meaningful. Guided by Taylor’s Standards for Digital Excellence and the Three Rs, Relevant, Responsible, and Resilient, we ensure that every digital tool supports deeper thinking, creativity, and wellbeing.
As a long-standing Apple Distinguished School, we use technology thoughtfully, not just for convenience. Research-backed tools help learners review and remember key ideas, while AI-powered insights give teachers real-time feedback so they can tailor lessons to each child’s needs.
A strong culture of responsible digital use also ensures that wellbeing and ethical literacy are always prioritised. Learners are encouraged to make good choices online, understand the impact of their digital footprint, and use technology as a force for positive change.
Our learners also explore how technology shapes the world around them. Programmes like Critical Thinking for an AI World teach them to question what they see online and recognise digital bias — essential skills for life in the age of artificial intelligence.
Innovation comes to life through learner-led projects such as the Arduino Escape Room, which began as a lunchtime idea and grew into a school-wide event blending problem-solving, design, and entrepreneurship. Collaborations with NUS, Morgan Stanley, and the Financial Times give learners a glimpse into how digital thinking connects with real-world careers and innovation.
This award celebrates how we use technology not just to teach, but to inspire creativity, leadership, and positive impact.
Silver Winner — Most Future-Ready Students: Preparing Learners for a Future Full of Possibility
Our Silver award for Most Future-Ready Students recognises how Nexus equips young people with the mindset and skills to thrive in an unpredictable world. Learning here goes beyond academics — it’s about helping every learner build confidence, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose.
From Early Years to IBDP, learners are encouraged to embrace challenges, take risks, and view mistakes as essential steps in the learning journey. Real-world relevance is built into every stage of our curriculum, with opportunities for service learning, research, and authentic inquiry.
Entrepreneurial ventures such as Neutrino Coffee — a learner-led social enterprise supporting One Million Lights in the Philippines — showcase how young people can become ethical leaders through experience. Our diverse community strengthens cultural understanding, helping learners build respect for different perspectives through daily collaboration and communication.
At Nexus, career readiness goes beyond the classroom. Through initiatives like the NexSteps Careers Fair, learners connect directly with global industry leaders such as Google, Apple, and LinkedIn, gaining a real understanding of future opportunities. Our Careers and University Guidance Counsellors work closely with each learner to help them discover their passions and make informed decisions about their next steps after graduation.
This recognition highlights our commitment to equipping learners with the skills, knowledge, and character to thrive in a world full of opportunity.
Gold Winner — Sustainable School of the Year: Continuing a Legacy of Responsibility
We’re especially proud to share that Nexus has once again received Gold for Sustainable School of the Year — our third consecutive year earning this recognition.
Sustainability at Nexus goes beyond eco-friendly practices, it’s embedded into our culture. Aligning with the IB mission and our own Care:Mvmt values, sustainability at Nexus reinforces that caring for oneself, others, and the planet is essential to future-readiness. We don’t see sustainability as a one-off initiative or a seasonal theme, but rather a continuous mindset that shapes decisions made in our classrooms, across campus operations, and within our wider community.
Learners lead meaningful projects that reduce waste, conserve energy, and restore biodiversity on campus, while service learning programmes allow them to work with community partners to make a positive impact beyond the school gates.
Many of our learner initiatives are driven by the learners passions. For example, the team behind Greentopia designed a sustainability-focused card game that won the Singapore round of the Junior Achievement Company of the Year competition and advanced to the regional finals in Tokyo. Through the Green Guardians CCA, learners run a mini circular economy by harvesting crops from our hydroponic gardens and using proceeds to fund future growth.
Receiving this Gold award for the third consecutive year reflects our ongoing commitment to nurturing young people who understand their power to make a difference, as they grow into thoughtful, responsible, and empowered citizens ready to create a more sustainable future.
Looking Ahead
We’re honoured to receive these awards from HoneyKids Asia. They reflect the dedication, creativity, and commitment of our learners, educators, families, and partners — a community that brings innovation, responsibility, and global citizenship to life every day.
These accolades celebrate the strength of our curriculum, the skills our learners develop, and our ongoing commitment to sustainability. At the same time, they inspire us to continue innovating, supporting every learner to thrive in a world that is constantly changing.
As we look ahead, we remain focused on nurturing curiosity, compassion, and purpose. We are proud of what we’ve achieved together — and excited to continue empowering our learners to lead with confidence, think critically, and act to make a positive difference in the world.
