Innovation Through Digital Learning and Entrepreneurship
At Nexus International School (Singapore), we have developed a learning environment where digital innovation and entrepreneurial thinking come together to create real-world impact. Our approach develops future-ready learners who blend technical expertise with creative problem-solving, preparing them to excel in a fast-changing global landscape. Guided by Taylor’s Standards for Digital Excellence and our 3Rs of education (Relevant, Responsible, Resilient), we equip each learner with the competencies and mindsets essential for success beyond the classroom.
A Robust Digital Learning Framework
Our digital learning ecosystem is founded on evidence-based pedagogy. We employ our suite of Synaptic Strengthening Tools to integrate retrieval practice and spaced repetition into daily instruction. These adaptive platforms deliver regular low-stakes quizzes, immediate feedback, and gamified elements that reinforce understanding and build long-term retention. AI-driven analytics inform teachers about individual progress, enabling early intervention and personalised support. By mapping each subject area to a digital platform that supports quizzing, we strengthen neural connections through active retrieval, build learner confidence via immediate feedback cycles, and foster self-regulated learning habits.
Our Critical Thinking for an AI World programme provides learners with what we consider to be ‘timeless, cognitive armour’ through bite-sized learning experiences that each explore a different cognitive bias or logical fallacy through real-world AI case studies. Topics include confirmation bias, anchoring bias, the planning fallacy, survivorship bias and the ostrich effect. Each session uses a consistent structure of definition, examples, reflection questions and optional extension readings. A badge-based gamification system with five levels motivates learners to collaborate, share insights and apply critical thinking across diverse contexts.
From primary years onwards, learners engage with augmented reality and robotics projects. They might design an AR app to visualise historical artefacts or build a sensor-driven robot to sort recyclables. These authentic tasks apply technology to solve real challenges while our digital wellness curriculum emphasises balanced screen time, online safety and ethical technology use. Through integrated units, learners gain technical fluency and an understanding of their role as responsible digital citizens. It is no wonder that we were recently conferred with the HoneyKids Asia Editors’ Choice Award for Digital Technology in Learning.
Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Recognition
Our Taylor’s Schools Entrepreneurial Fund provides seed capital and mentoring for learner-led ventures. This ecosystem fosters the entrepreneurial mindset of identifying problems, prototyping solutions, testing in the market and iterating based on feedback. Nexus has received significant accolades for this work. In 2024-25 we were honoured with the APAC Insider Excellence Award in Entrepreneurship Education.
One shining example is Neutrino Coffee, a learner-led start-up which was launched in May 2025. Learners wrote the business plan, developed branding, managed inventory and negotiated supply contracts with multiple retail outlets across Singapore. The venture illustrates ethical entrepreneurship in practice since all proceeds support One Million Lights in the Philippines. This project has been teaching learners financial management, marketing and social responsibility.
In the Junior Achievement Company of the Year programme, over 40 of our learners form two teams. In 2025, Greentopia won the Singapore finals with its sustainability-focused board game, which is now marketed as an educational toolkit. The learners involved in this winning team were awarded with an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan to pitch their concept to a wider audience. Nexus also hosts the Singapore finals, positioning our campus as the home of entrepreneurship education. Through the JA experience, learners experience the entire venture journey from concept to pitch, learning resilience and adaptability.
These ventures are just a glimpse of the innovation and impact our learners are driving across the Nexus community. From social enterprises and sustainability projects to cutting-edge STEM research, each initiative reflects the creativity, resilience and purpose that define The Nexus Way. In the video below, our learners share some of the remarkable projects they have brought to life and how they are using their skills to create meaningful change in the world.
World-Class Global Partnerships
Our learners benefit from partnerships with institutions at the forefront of research and innovation. We co-designed the Solving Life Challenges the Entrepreneurial Way programme with the National University of Singapore, the top-ranked university in Asia and QS top 10 globally. The programme emphasises commercial thinking and risk management. It challenges our learners to navigate uncertainty, embrace failure as a learning opportunity and bring viable solutions to market.
As the first international school in Singapore to launch a learner-led Y:WAIT chapter at The Centre for AI Innovation, we advance gender equity in technology. Our Nexus Chapter connects learners with peers and mentors from Raffles Institution, Raffles Girls’ School, Nanyang Girls’ High and Cedar Girls’, creating a regional network that promotes the participation of girls in STEM.
Further, our partnership with the Financial Times enables learners to serve as Student Advocates, researching and reporting on global business trends. Virtual internships with the likes of Morgan Stanley immerse learners in real-world financial projects, enhancing their professional readiness. The hugely popular Nexus Stock Exchange simulation engages learners in a school-wide investment challenge using a virtual USD 100,000 portfolio to invest in New York Stock Exchange shares. Through this practical experience, learners consolidate classroom concepts in economics, finance and risk analysis.
Installing Acumen. Instilling Ambition.
Every learner at Nexus can benefit from a teacher-mentor who guides entrepreneurial projects and independent research. This support provides technical coaching, framing sessions for design sprints, and industry introductions. By adhering to the 3Rs framework, every initiative remains relevant to real-world contexts, nurtures responsible practices and builds resilience through reflective feedback.
Mentorship and success coaching extends beyond content expertise. Teachers model growth mindsets, share professional networks and coach learners in project management and ethical decision making.
Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders
Through our evidence-based digital learning framework, vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and strategic global partnerships, we cultivate the skills, mindset and confidence needed to shape a resilient, responsible and relevant future. By integrating innovation, ethical responsibility and real-world engagement into every aspect of education, we prepare our learners not just for exams, but for life itself. At Nexus International School (Singapore), we empower learners to Think Critically, Collaborate Globally and Create Fearlessly.
